Technology and development partner for a multi-signal biometric authentication platform

Orpheus is BioTone Biometrics’ technology and development partner on a multi-signal biometric authentication platform: a mobile enrollment and verification app in beta, alongside a live API, enterprise console, developer portal, and public website.

Introduction

BioTone Biometrics is building a multi-signal biometric authentication platform. Orpheus is its technology and development partner on an active, ongoing engagement.

The engagement

From proof of concept to a working platform

BioTone Biometrics is building authentication that checks several biometric and contextual signals together rather than relying on one. Orpheus is its technology and development partner.

The work began in February 2026 with an iOS and Android proof of concept. Production MVP development started in April 2026, and the engagement continues.

Mobile app

Enrollment and verification on the phone

The cross-platform app, built with React Native, guides people through enrolling and verifying with face, palm, ear, voice, and eye-region capture, alongside liveness checks and device context. Signal scores are combined into a single verification decision.

Matching runs on the device, and enrolled templates are stored encrypted on the phone. The iOS app is in beta through TestFlight, and Android builds are in internal testing.

Sign-in

Sign in with BioTone

A web or desktop sign-in shows a QR code, the person verifies on their phone, and the application receives a short-lived signed token through an OpenID Connect sign-in broker. The same flow supports step-up verification before sensitive actions.

Integrations with enterprise identity providers are in development.

Platform

Backend services and enterprise administration

A Python and FastAPI backend handles enrollment, verification sessions, and tenants, with cloud data and file storage on Azure. Customer organizations manage their tenants in an enterprise administration console, and a separate platform administration tool supports BioTone’s own operations.

Developers and deployment

A developer portal, a public website, and repeatable deploys

The developer portal and its API went live in April 2026, giving integrators server-side verification and documentation. Software development kits are in development.

Orpheus also built BioTone’s public website, released in September 2026, and the deployment automation behind the platform: scripted cloud deploys for each service and a self-hosted deployment kit built on Docker Compose.
